Recently I had the opportunity to participate in the Amazon Design Creative Jam. Together on a team with Katie Pino and Rhian Advincula, we worked for one week to design and develop a tablet app in Adobe XD to help high school students #DiscoverDesign.

Below is a slide presentation establishing the case for design and the user research and current market survey I conducted to develop design goals moving forward into prototyping.
Design Thinking can teach teens to approach problems in rich and flexible ways in a constantly evolving global landscape, preparing them for new careers through valuable skills for success like empathy, framing, rapid ideation, iteration, and evaluation.

Currently, design programs and resources exist in abundance for EDUCATORS to use in academic environments, but nothing exists for teens to directly experience and understand design in their lives. A unique opportunity is presented here as “95% of teens now report they have a smartphone or access to one” (Anderson 2018).
Team WOMXN's app, "Find Design", capitalizes on the tech-driven student lifestyles to help introduce and familiarize them with design practices. Through daily design activities, networks for first-hand design engagement, and libraries of text and media on design in various fields and universities, "Find Design" provides a comprehensive resource for students to maintain ongoing online profiles as they experience and develop design skills.
